Welcome to the website of Jacqueline Chadwick, freelance illustrator. Please get in touch if you would like me to create something for you, even if you are unsure of what you may need.
I am a professional archaeological illustrator with over 25 years experience whilst working for the Archaeology and Numismatics Department at Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales and on contract to the Archaeological Survey unit in National Museums Liverpool. Since 2015 I have worked as illustrator/director for my own company: J Chadwick Illustration Ltd (details below).
I create original graphics, maps, finds-drawings, reconstructions, artwork and design for the interpretation of archaeological collections and for the publication of archaeological research. While most of my work has been used for publications, exhibitions and research within archaeology, museums and the Portable Antiquities Scheme, I am happy to undertake completely unrelated commissions.
I also undertake page-layout work, image reformatting and general 'tidying' up for publication.
I have regularly undertaken public engagement work for the Festival of Archaeology through Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales, facilitating family-oriented creative activities about archaeology and illustration. I have also presented talks and lectures about archaeological illustration and projects such as the Cerrigydrudion Crown.
I am a member of the Lithic Studies Society, the Association of Illustrators and York Consortium for Conservation and Craftsmanship.
Please browse my website, visit my Blog or contact me if you have any questions or comments to make.
